What is TiEC?

A Teen in Environment Corporation 2011(TIEC) is a project established by SIFE UTP to educate youngsters, specifically high school students about entrepreneurship as well as the importance of changing a community via business. TIEC has been organized for 3 years since the year 2008.

In this project, the secondary students guided by the school-teachers and SIFE UTP become mentors to the orphanage to handle a business. The type of business is up to the mentor or the mentee to choose. TiEC members can suggest ideas, such as agriculture, and also will be helping them to deal with outsiders or any company (eg. FAMA) . The profits gained from the business will be given fully to the mentee (orphanage). At the end of the project, there will be presentations by the secondary students on their mentee’s business and what they have gained from this project.
